Q: How much does it cost to see you?

A: If I do not accept your insurance, my rate depends on practice location and session length.  Please contact me for details.  I offer a sliding-fee scale on an as-needed basis.

Q: Do you accept insurance?

A: I am currenty able to accept
  • Aetna
  • Cigna
  • CHP
  • Excellus Blue Cross Blue Shield
I am in the process of becoming able to accept more insurances, so check back to see if I am accepting yours!  Additionally, you may be able to receive partial reimbursement from your insurance company if your plan covers services with “out-of-network providers.”  I can provide a monthly receipt, which you can submit to the insurance carrier for reimbursement.  When you call your insurance company, you may wish to ask:

  • Does your plan cover “out-of-network outpatient mental health services”?
  • What is your annual deductible and has it been met?
  • What is your co-payment per visit?
  • What is the maximum number of sessions allowed per year?
  • Do I require a referral from my primary care doctor?
  • What amount do you cover for out-of-network providers?
Q: What is therapy with you like?

A: Therapy with me will be tailored to meet your individual goals and needs.  Some people see me for just a few sessions to work on  a very specific problem.  Others stay for months, and even several years.  We will agree together on what our goals for your treatment are, then work to meet those goals as efficiently and effectively as possible.  I am kind and accepting and provide a secure and nurturing environment for doing the hard work of making changes.

Q: What are your specialties?

A: I most enjoy working with people struggling to overcome issues from their pasts.  If you come from a chaotic, difficult or even an abusive family, or have been through other hard experiences that just don't seem to let you move forward in life as you would like, I feel confident that working together we can get you past those hurdles!

That being said, I do also enjoy working with those who are going through a bout of depression or struggling with some anxiety.

Q: Do you work remotely?

A: Yes, if it is appropriate for the type of issues you are working on, I do offer tele-therapy.  We can discuss this possibility in a free phone consultation if you are interested.
